They last about 35 minutes. Accessible on foot at low tide, the Fort National invites you to cross the bridge across the centuries. The visit to the stronghold, whose walls are granite rock with the body, you will relive over three centuries of military life at Fort: the large-cell tank ammunition bunkers, attacks maritime legend to epic duels the corsair Robert Surcouf, memories of Chateaubriand tragic hours of the Second World War. The text of the visit is made available to foreign visitors in the following languages: English, German, Dutch, Italian and Spanish.

Days and opening hours

Fort National is open to the public during school holidays (Easter and All Saints), the long weekends (Labor Day, 8 May, Ascension, Pentecost) and every day from 1 June to 30 September (see schedule in detail the following time-against). The opening of Fort depend on tides and changing every day. Do not hesitate to consult the schedule or to download the file "days and hours for the 2008 season" in the "Download". It is accessible at low tide since the hold Saint Vincent at the foot of the Château de Saint-Malo. The French flag was hoisted on top of the tower which dominates the Fort to indicate that the Fort is open.



When the French flag was hoisted, you know that the Fort is open to visitors. Access is made at low tide from the beach of Saint-Malo (the beach on the Range), at the Castle. You cross the beach from the Porte St. Thomas or the car park of the Gallery (300 meters walk). The tickets are sold at the gate of the Fort.
